IN-PROGRESS
NEW PLAY READING SERIES

At Unicorn Theatre you can be a part of the next great play. Throughout the year we offer readings of exciting new scripts that have never been produced before. Talk Backs after each reading give audiences a chance to ask the playwright questions and discuss these in-progress manuscripts. Plays in our reading series often go on to receive full productions. Free and open to the public. Donations requested at the door.

Mac, an adjunct lecturer, and Nessa, a freshman, have a lot in common. They’re slightly awkward, deeply passionate about Homer’s The Odyssey, and are Black in a very white department at a very white University. They stumble upon the discovery that Homer himself came from Africa and must figure out how best to honor this truth in the face of administrators, overbearing siblings, the Internet, and Homer himself.
