Cast Bios - The Effect



Manon Halliburton (DR. LORNA JAMES) was last seen on the Unicorn stage in last season’s Informed Consent.  She is a Kansas City native but has performed regionally for the past 20 years.  Some theatres include Kansas City Rep, Indiana Rep, Cincinnati Playhouse, Utah Shakespeare Festival, Chester Theater Massachusetts, Arrow Rock Lyceum and others. She has also performed locally at Kansas City Actors Theatre and M.E.T.   She will be returning to Arrow Rock this winter to play Mrs. Cratchit in A Christmas Carol directed by Quin Gresham.  Manon is also a part of the theatre faculty at Mo. Western and Benedictine College and if that didn't keep her busy enough, she is a professional photographer right here in KC.  Her work can be seen at  Manon is excited to be engaged to sound designer and composer Jon Robertson.  They will be getting hitched June 2019. Cheers!!!



Todd Lanker (DR. TOBY SEALEY) is thrilled to be back in KC, joining this terrific cast and crew of The Effect. For the past three years, Todd has served as the Artistic Director of Shakespeare in the Shed, a theatrical collaboration with Angel City Brewery in Los Angeles. Prior favorite Kansas City credits include: Dying City (The Fishtank), Our Town (Coterie Theatre), As You Like It (Heart of America Shakespeare), and Lend Me a Tenor (New Theatre Restaurant). He is so immeasurably grateful to his wife Ashlee for her unending love and support. Todd is a proud member of AEA.




Amy O'Connor (CONNIE HALL) is so thankful to be joining the Unicorn team again following Stupid F##king Bird (Nina). Recently, she worked with the Heart of America Shakespeare Festival on Much Ado About Nothing (Hero), and Mesner Puppet Theatre on Go, Dog. Go! (Puppeteer). Locally, she has worked with the Kansas City Actors Theatre and KCRep’s OriginKC New Works Festival. Regionally, Amy has performed with the Livermore Shakespeare Festival (Bay Area), and with Balagan Theatre (Seattle). She is proud to have received her MFA from UMKC, and grateful that you are here. This production is dedicated to Tim O’Connor.
