Marketing Director

Unicorn Theatre: Currently in it's 43rd Season seeks applications for a new Marketing Director.

 

Mission Statement:

Unicorn Theatre enhances the Kansas City community by developing and producing high-quality, thought-provoking plays that have never been seen in the region. We illuminate social issues by shining a light on minority stories which include race, religion and gender identity. Unicorn creates opportunities for the advancement of emerging and established actors, directors, playwrights, designers, technicians and administrative staff.

Marketing Director Responsibilities:
-Coordinates, develops, produces and implements marketing and promotional materials and    mailings.

-Development of the annual marketing plan.

-In-house graphic design for ads, postcards, etc.
-Author and distribute press releases and collateral materials.
-Negotiate and place advertising buys.
-Develop/pitch stories and coordinate reviewers.
-Responsible for arranging interviews or feature articles for radio, print, television and online.

-Sets up photo shoots for publicity.
-Maintain and edit website.
-Serve as staff liaison to the Board Marketing Committee.
-Maintain Social media presence (Twitter, Facebook, Youtube, Instagram).
-Selling Ad space/trades.
-Reports to Producing Artistic Director and Managing Director and includes other duties as assigned.

Preferred Qualifications
-Bachelor’s degree in a related field.
-A minimum of two years’ experience in theatre/nonprofit marketing.
-Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Excel, Adobe Creative Suite, e-blast software (mailchimp), and web content management software.
-Excellent verbal and written communications skills.
-Light video editing skills
-Ability to present information concisely and effectively.
-Ability to organize, prioritize work and manage time effectively.
-Ability to work independently with little supervision.
-Excellent interpersonal skills.
-Respect for diversity.

Hours: Full Time
