Carla Noack (OLD SHADY) returns to the Unicorn, having recently appeared in Grounded, How to Use a Knife, Lasso of Truth and Time Stands Still. Prior to moving to Kansas City from Minnesota, she was a co-artistic director of the Commonweal Theatre Company and a company member of the Great River Shakespeare Festival. Other credits include Ten Thousand Things Theatre, Theatre Latte Da, Kansas City Repertory Theatre, Heart of America Shakespeare Festival and Kansas City Actors Theatre (core artistic member 2010-20013). KC audiences most recently saw her as Jennifer in KCAT’s production of The Realistic Joneses. Carla is thrilled to be paddling alongside her UMKC MFA students.

 

 

 

 

Rasheedat Badejo (SENECA HOWLAND/THE BISHOP) is excited to be making her Unicorn Debut as Minnie in An Octoroon! It has been a dream of hers to be able to perform for this company! Ras is a generative theatre artist born and raised in Kansas City. She received her B.A. in Theatre-Performance from UMKC May of 2015. Ras is currently in her second year of her artist residency at the Fishtank Theatre and her first year as an Executive Assistant for the Black Repertory Theatre of Kansas City. Ras’ recent credits include The Nine Who Dared (The Coterie), Her one woman show Young Black Victorian (Fishtank Theatre), Every 28 Hours (Fishtank Theatre). Ras would like to thank Heidi Van, Brian Buntin, Jeff Church and Damron Armstrong for their tough love and support in her theatrical growth, her family for believing in her, her boyfriend Phil, for never making her choose between love and her art, Ethan Zogg for being a supportive and understanding roommate and Cassius the cat for supplying snuggles and endless laughter throughout the process.

 

 

Katie Gilchrist (HAWKINS) is over the moon to return for a tenth show at her first artistic home, The Unicorn. She is a co-founder of Bohemian Cult Revival, the co-Proprietor of The Pearl, and Artistic Director of KC Irish Theatre. She is a member of the Late Night Theatre Girls’ Troupe, an educator with Crossroads High, and a director/creator for Worlds of Fun/WinterFest. Voted Best Actress by Pitch Readers (2012-2016). Past Unicorn credits include: Lobby Hero, Intimate Apparel, Rabbit Hole, Distracted, Everyday Rapture.  Upcoming: Chainsaw: The Musical (Kokopelli), Stupid F’ing Bird (Unicorn). Jessalyn Kincaid (WILLIAM DUNN/MR. ASA) is tickled to be returning to the Unicorn! She has been fortunate to work as a singer and actor at some of the finest professional theatres KC has to offer, including critically-acclaimed turns at KC Rep, The New Theatre, Quality Hill Playhouse, Kansas City Actor’s Theatre, The Coterie, American Heartland Theatre and Musical Theater Heritage. She has been honored by Pitch Magazine as the recipient of their annual MASTERMIND Award and was recently given the award for Best Actress in a Play by BroadwayWorld.com. She is one of the founders and performing members of the Star Spangled Betties, a female trio specializing in 1940’s swing music.  Chioma Anyanwu (O.G. HOWLAND/TSAUWAIT) is so thrilled to be on the Unicorn stage again! Other Unicorn credits include Hungry, Ruined, Blacktop Sky, The Mountaintop, Everyday Rapture, and Heathers.  KC credits: 1776, Evita (MTH), For Colored Girls... Megan Sells (FRANK GOODMAN) is a Kansas City local and is a third year Acting and Directing MFA candidate at UMKC. She’s incredibly excited to be making her Unicorn Theatre debut with Men on Boats and this magnificent group of people.  Most recently she played Enobarbus in KCRep’s Antony and Cleopatra. Previous shows include: The Way of the World, UMKC; Desire: An evening of Tennessee Williams, UMKC; O Beautiful, UMKC; Coriolanus, Great River Shakespeare Festival; Immeasurable Heaven, UMKC; Timon of Athens, UMKC.

 

 

 

 

Yetunde Felix-Ukwu (SUMNER) is very excited to be playing the role of Sumner. After a career in politics Yetunde is now in the second year of the MFA Acting program at UMKC. Upon graduation she hopes to return to her native Nigeria and begin a theatre and entertainment company. This is Yetunde’s first professional show and she is grateful to be performing with such a talented and supportive cast and crew.

 

 

 

 

 

Emilie Leia Karas (BRADLEY) is excited to make her Kansas City & Unicorn debut with such an incredible cast and crew. She’s been on stage since she was a kid, trying for laughs and usually falling face forward. She is currently realizing these dreams as an M.F.A candidate in Acting & Directing from UMKC. She’s still a little bitter that she isn’t on the party boat...just sayin’.

 

 

 

 

 

 Marianne McKenzie (HALL) is utterly thrilled to make her Unicorn debut as “the map guy”, Andy Hall. She is currently in the second year of the Master of Fine Arts Acting Program at the University of Missouri-Kansas City. Local credits include: The Penis Monologues, No Exit, and An Adult Evening of Shel Silverstein at The Fishtank Performance Studio. Marianne is also a writer and artist.
